Living

Altogether, the Le Franschhoek provides 63 rooms and suites of different categories. Each room features a bright and modern ambience and an exalted equipment. This includes an air conditioning, a direct read more » dial telephone, a hairdryer, an electronic safe, a mini-bar, a remote controlled television with selected DSTV channels and internet connections.

 

All rooms are heated by an individual, adjustable underfloor heating, which radiates pleasant warmth. In between, tea and coffee making facilties enable you to brew a tea or coffee at any time.

 

The various room categories differ in space and location. You can choose between 40 Standard Rooms, 21 Suites and two Villas.

 

The Standard Rooms dispose of an en suite bathroom with bath tub and separate shower. The beds, so-called “Hollywood Twins“, can be made up separately or together to form a king size bed.

 

The Suites are larger in size and additionally provide a balcony overlooking the river, the gardens and the impressive mountains.

 

The two Villas are still larger in size than the Suites and feature a discreet, modern luxury. Those Villas are preferably booked by honeymooners or wedding couples, because the large canopy bed excudes a particular romantic ambience.

Activities

The fertile soil around Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek made this region famous for its brilliant wines, sherries, ports and brandys.

 

There are more than 200 vineyards and you'll be able to test some of the region's top wines. The towns and villages feature a lot of historic buildings and memorials, which date back until the 17th century.

 

You'll find many hiking trails in the sourrounding area and the Franschhoek Mountains are home to a lot of different kinds of protea and rare birds. If you are lucky, you'll even see monkeys or a mountain antelope.

 

A special highlight is the drive over the famous Franschhoek Pass. You'll get up to over 700 metres above the sea. Besides the wonderful views, the vegetation is truly worthwhile and appears to be so nordic that you almost feel like being in the Scottish Highlands.

 

We gladly book fly-fishing in Franschhoek or in Du Toits Kloof Resort for you, as well as a trip to a clay pigeon shooting or a trip in a hot air balloon, in which you can enjoy the views while hovering over the winelands.

 

If you are a golfer, you'll certainly be happy to hear that there are several good golf courses in the sourrounding area to which the hotel management gladly arranges a shuttle service at any time.
