Tailor-made Campania Travel Experiences

“La Dolce Vita“ Amalfi Coast and Gulf of Naples

“Campani felix“ - joyful country is how the Romans of old used to call the fertile stretches of land along Italy's west coast. With approximately 5.8 million inhabitants, Campania is the most populated part of the country. If Campania's popularity with the locals is any indication of its beauty, may be argued. However, certainly the area is unique, fascinating and highly recommendable for an extensive stay. Explore breathtaking landscapes, antique Pompeii as well as Naples and Mount Vesuvius. A short ride across glittering blue waves takes you to Capri and Ischia Island. An added advantage: When you return to the Amalfi Coast you can enjoy a new perspective of the fair shores ahead, which hide countless cultural and culinary treasures further inland. Explore Campania with INTOSOL. Once again, we have scouted out and put together a selection of the finest hotels and most enchanting hideaways the region has to offer!

Naples

Harbour city, volcano city! Naples on the foothills of the Vesuvius is Italian all the way. It is passionate and chaotic, old beyond measure and proud. Naples is a blend of historic and archaeological sights and bustling piazzas filled with the aggressive hum of uncountable Vespas. The sun shines, the sea sends wave upon wave washing up on the shore and at night the aroma of home-made food floats on the warm air. Stroll the busy streets and stop for a Pizza Napoletana. There is no better place to try the delicious classic combination of fresh tomato sauce and buffalo milk mozzarella than in the city, where it was invented. Buon Appetito!

Amalfi Coast

Campania has a lot more to offer than “just” Naples. Most certainly, a holiday in Campania includes a drive down Italy's most spectacular coastal road: the Amalfi Drive! The scenic drive navigates narrow cliffs and precipitous mountains. It winds its way through Positano and Vietri and boasts magnificent panoramas of laid-back mountain villages and the Gulf of Salerno. Slipping around the last bend and arriving at the former fishing village Positano, it immediately becomes clear why Positano is also called the pearl of the Amalfi Coast. Positano is spectacularly set on terraces above the ocean, with only worn-out steps leading down to the water's edge. However, there are many other picture-postcard villages and towns that wait to be explored. Ravello and Amalfi are certainly worth a visit. It is not without reason that the Amalfi Coast has been declared a world heritage site by the UNESCO.

Capri and Ischia Island

Those that have come in search of absolute peace and quiet as well as supreme relaxation in a stunning setting will delight over Ischia and Capri Island, both located in the Gulf of Naples. Ischia is the larger of the two islands and one of Italy's most famous spa destinations on the sea. It is a claim to fame that is partly based in the thermal springs that occur naturally. Ischia Island, however, has a lot more to offer: terraced mountain villages, high plateaus, lush Pine tree forests, vineyards and citrus orchards as well as beautiful beaches only begin to describe Ischia's sensational landscapes. And then there are the many thermal springs, sometimes tucked away most beautifully in well kept gardens. A glowing recommendation also goes to Ischia Ponte: On a rock of volcanic origin nestles the Castello Aragonese, accessible via a narrow stone dam only. Six kilometres long and between one and two and a half kilometres wide, Capri Island is just as beautiful. Its rugged sandstone cliffs tower above the ocean below and radiate a mystical flair that even the old ceasars beheld in silent wonder. Thus, it comes as no surprise that Capri, centuries later, is still an exceedingly popular destination for those in love and couples on honeymoon. Moreover, you may also arrange to be wed on the island: everything for a memorable day! Savour the strong sun and mild climate. Relish the luxurious accommodation and indulge in the fine Italian cuisine. INTOSOL has the perfect accommodation solution to suit every need and taste: A private villa, manor house or sophisticated spa hotel.... welcome to Capri!
