Living

The Thorn Park Country House is a former horse farm and consists of three carefully renovated buildings. The main building accommodates three guest rooms, the kitchen, breakfast room, library, lounge and read more » two dining rooms.

 

The smaller Coach House features only two guest units. Last but not least, the old barn has been converted into an elegant building accommodating a luxurious suite as well as offices and the reception area.

 

The graceful estate radiates a flair composed of historic ambience, sophisticated elegance and quaint country ease and comfort. Unwind in the salon furnished with antiques and selected curiosities or in the cosy library.

 

Each of the Thorn Park Country House’s guest units is unique and decked out differently. The elegant Blue & White Room is reminiscent of the sky and promises sweet dreams to come. Or choose the Yellow Room, radiating positive energy.

 

Next, there is the White Room, equipped with champagne drapes and rare antiques. Those with a soft spot for Italian elegance are well advised to choose the Terracotta Room. Italian chintz and Michelangelo reproductions as well as the warm colour scheme lend the room a cosy feel.

 

Incidentally, all of the fine units offer a private shower bathroom with amenities like a hairdryer and extravagant little details like heated towel racks. An air-conditioning system, heating and TV complete the facilities.

 

Certainly, the Barn Accommodation is the Thorn Park’s finest. The luxurious suite offers a bedroom as well as living room with a kitchenette and dressing room – plenty of room to spread out!

Wine connoisseurs will delight in the countless wineries that offer their produce for tasting. The Sevenhill Cellars are the region’s oldest winery, having been founded by Jesuits as early as 1851.

 

The Sevenhill’s cellars are especially famous for their superb Rieslings. The village Sevenhill itself, is a charming place with a lively market on every last Saturday of the month.

 

The Clare Valley is known far and wide for its many fresh local delicacies. Try the bread fresh out of the oven, the fruit grown in the region or admire the English architecture of Mintaro.

 

The Clare’s many enchanting villages make for a long and wonderful day, passing through Penwortham, Watevale, Auburn, Burra, Kapunda and many more… The country town Clare is a small but prospering place offering a superb choice of restaurants and pubs.
