Tailor-made Linyanti Reserve Experiences

Pristine Nature far from the Crowds

The private Linyanti Reserve lies north of the Chobe National Park, the third-largest park in Botswana. The overflow from the Linyanti River feeds the surrounding waterways and produces an environment similar to the Okavango Delta, with papyrus reed lined streams and banks covered in Jackalberry, Ebony, Marula and Sausage trees. The Linyanti Reserve spans an area of 125,000 hectares of pristine wilderness and swamplands alternating with lush grasslands and forested islands. The number of camps in the Linyanti that are allowed to conduct safaris is strictly limited. It is a most exclusive destination of wide-open spaces and few visitors. This combination of vastness and privacy as well as the abundance of wildlife are what set the Linyanti Reserve apart. Elephants are one of the biggest attractions in this reserve. It is above all during winter (June to September), when the floodplains and smaller tributaries slowly dry up that these giants visit the waterholes in hundreds. The diversity is stunning. Red Lechwes, Zebras, Gnus, Impalas, Waterbucks, Roans, Elands, and other antelope species as well as Giraffes, Baboons and other apes, Warthogs, Crocodiles and Buffalo can all be found in the Linyanti. Of course, such plentiful prey attracts the inevitable predators, encounters with which are often among the most impressive safari experiences. Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Wild Dogs and Hyenas all lie in wait to pounce on prey. Those with a keen interest in our feathered friends will hardly find a moment’s rest to lower their binoculars. The reeds and swamplands are home to a large number and variety of birds. Together with Wilderness Safaris and Kwando Safaris, Intosol is proud to offer you the Linyanti Reserve’s camps that unite refined luxury, privacy and a superb game viewing all in one spot.
