Tailor-made Sardinia Travel Experiences

Island Paradise Mediterranean Style

Lonely, endlessly long, white sand beaches, the deep blue sea, bizarre landscapes, untamed nature and a rich fauna and flora – you need not fly around the world. It is all in Europe, on the Mediterranean island Sardinia. Welcome! At INTOSOL, we are proud to include Sardinia into our programme. We have discovered hideaways of incredible splendour and sophisticated accommodations that rank among the finest in the world. The Italian island Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea after Sicily. Sardinia and its conglomerate of smaller islets are located at approximately 180 kilometres distance from the main land. The expanse of water that separates Sardinia from the mainland is called the Tyrrhenian Sea, part of the Mediterranean Sea. Only eleven kilometres in the north, across the Strait of Bonifacio lies the French island Corsica. However, it is not just the spectacular geographic location that make Sardinia such a special destination. The island sports romantic beaches and highly scenic landscapes. One of the most celebrated regions is the Costa Smeralda with the gorgeous bay Cala di Volpe. The legendary Costa Smeralda, the Emerald Coast, has made quite a name for itself. Among others, it was frequented by Jean-Paul Belmondo and Lady Di, who appreciated the region's natural beauty and elegant chic. Stroll down the endlessly long, pristine sand beaches. Explore the Cape Testa in the North, the Costa Paradiso (the name says it all) and the enchanting dune-scapes found along the Costa de la Sud, Sardinia's south coast. And should you every tire of the ocean's enchanting beauty, just turn your attention inland, where you will find quaint villages and historic sites galore. Moreover, forests of cork oaks, Macchia shrublands, protected lakes and lush plains with proliferate wildlife wait to be explored. Returning from the wilderness, how about a hearty Italian meal followed by some sight-seeing at the historic cities Olbia or Alghero? Despite being an island, Sardinia has had its share of the turbulent Italian history. Those interested in sports and activities will find Sardinia just as appealing as those that have arrived for the beaches, history or nature. First and foremost, of course, is the sea: Charter a sleek yacht and complete a full circuit of the island, pulling in and out of lonely bays. It is a perfect option to discover nooks and crannies of the island that otherwise remain inaccessible or hidden. And then there are the wonders beneath the waves. Sardinia offers exciting dive sites and crystal-clear water. The many caves and grottos along the coast thrill even the most experienced diver. You may also stay on land: Sometimes a well kept golf course commanding a fantastic view, good company and few successful swings are all you need for a wonderfully relaxing day outdoors. Allow INTOSOL to take you on a journey to the Italian Caribbean! Welcome to Sardinia!
