And even though it may be great for shopping, it would be a sin not to explore Buenos Aires’ historic and cultural sights. Just ask the friendly hotel staff for help and advice when planning your day’s activities.

Each of the Legado Hotel’s eleven rooms is unique, boasting its very own design and charm. The design picks up on love and hatred, genius and madness, heroes and rebels as well as on Argentinian personalities like Che Guevara, San Martin, El Gaucho, Evita Perón and even Mafalda.

At the breakfast lodge you start the day with a sumptuous meal before setting off to explore the metropolis Buenos Aires. At night, there are several superb restaurants and bars in the Legado Mítico’s vicinity.

And whenever you want to kick back and relax, just take a soak in the Jacuzzi on the terrace. A loving care for even the smallest details sets the Legado Mítico Hotel apart. The polished timber floor boards harmonise wonderfully with the comfortable leather sofas and the well-stocked book shelves reaching as high as the ceiling.

Quiet and well bespoke sophistication, adorned with a balanced colour scheme that ranges from classic brown to subtle grey to deep red – it all goes perfectly with a glass of excellent Malbec wine enjoyed in the courtyard or in front of the crackling fireplace.

The Legado Mítico Hotel Buenos Aires has no spa or restaurant. However, you will soon find that it does not need them. The location in Palermo Viejo is just perfect and excellent culinary venues are found just around the corner. Enjoy!

Living

The Legado Mítico’s eleven individually furnished rooms each pay tribute to Latin America’s historic legacy, having been designed in honour of one of the continent’s venerated heroes.

However, despite the historic references and careful decorations, there is nothing old-fashioned about the rooms, which are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Warm colours, dark timber and select paintings create a wonderful flair.

The three Deluxe Rooms are approximately thirty square metres large and pay homage to Evita Perón, Che Guevara and Carlos Gardel. Evita Perón’s room has been decked out in a charming ochre colour scheme, furnished with baroque-style furniture and a crackling fireplace in the bedroom. Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara’s room comes with splashes of bright red and a host of emotionally charged memorabilia. Carlos Gardel was famous for his beautiful voice. And, certainly, the corresponding room is well-balanced and sophisticated space cherishing the fine arts.

All of the three Deluxe Rooms have been furnished with a king-sized bed inviting you to stretch out and relax in fine style. The modern bathrooms come equipped with a luxurious bathtub, a separate shower cabin and luxuriously modern amenities.

The Superior Rooms boast a level of warmth and cosiness that has become rare in modern superior lodgings. The rooms have been dedicated to the writer Jorge Louis Borges, the Argentinian liberator General José de San Martín, the celebrated artist Benito Quinquela Martin and the much worshipped independence fighter Manuel Belgrano. All of the Superior Rooms have been furnished with some kind of related memorabilia, like a typewriter or a portrait. The many historic details notwithstanding, the rooms are modern, airy and cosy. Furthermore, the luxurious bathrooms leave nothing to be desired.

The thirty square metres large Classic Rooms introduce you to some of Argentina’s great historic figures, infusing the ambience with a touch of myth. Stretch out on the king-sized bed and dream of the emancipated life of Victoria Ocampo. Tita Merello was born in one of the city’s poorest neighbourhoods but rose to fame through her outstanding tango talent. Like no one else, Tita Merella resembles the fiery tango passion.

And then, there is the chronically unkempt cartoon figure Mafalda. Of course, Mafalda’s Classic Room, designed in red and bright ochre, is filled with the comic strips that give just as much cause to laugh out loud as they do to ponder the deeper meanings. El Gaucho was always on the side-lines of regular society. However, he is still admired for his extraordinary horse riding skill, sharp mind and independent opinions. Every Classic Room features a luxurious, modern bathroom equipped with a separate shower and precious toiletries.
