Tailor-made Sapa Travel Experiences

Gateway to a World of Culture

Set close to the Chinese border at 1600 metres above sea level, the small Vietnamese town Sapa nestles amidst the breathtakingly beautiful mountain setting in the far Northwest. Rolling hills and terraced rice plantations bed themselves amidst a mystic coat of layered mist. The former French military post has recently experienced a renaissance with kindling tourism. However, fortunately, the ambience in Sapa has changed little and still remains a multi-cultural melange with bustling crowds clad in wonderfully colourful and painstakingly broidered garments. Most recommendable, visit the traditional mountain villages of the Red Dao and Black H’mong that conserve and celebrate their ancient traditions and lifestyle at the heart of the scenic mountain nature. Those that pack a pair of sturdy hiking boots may reach the distant villages via a network of mountain trails. Off the beaten track, it is not uncommon to spend the nights in the homes of the welcoming local families. Cat Cat Village is set at a mere three kilometres distance from Sapa. The romantic trail leads past bright green rice terraces and tiny vegetables patches dotting the mountain landscape. Cat Cat is famous for its strikingly beautiful waterfall and the age-old tradition of dying cloth with indigo. Whenever you allow your gaze to climb in the Sapa region, it invariably gets hooked by the Fanispan, Vietnam’s tallest peak and a challenging hike. The one and a half day ascend rewards you with breathtaking views out over the blossoming landscapes and thundering rivers far below. Then again, there are plenty of good excuses to take it easy: The Sapa Market is not to be missed! All of the region’s plentiful ethnic groups come together to exchange goods and keep up friendships. For visitors, the market is the perfect opportunity to experience the multi-cultural Vietnamese way of life in a hands-on experience, possibly picking up the one or other souvenir along the way. Immerse yourself in Vietnam with all its fascinating peoples and traditions! So many customs, colours and smiles united in one place! It is a great pleasure for the INTOSOL team to tailor you a Vietnam holiday!
