Tailor-made San Carlos de Bariloche Travel Experiences –

The Central Lake Region

The bustling little city is located at the heart of the lake region with tall mountains forming the scenic backdrop. The Nahuel – Huapi National Park is located on the Seven Lakes Panorama Route close to the skiing resort Cerro Catedral.

The Nahuel – Huapi National Park boasts uncountable, crystal-clear mountain lakes. First and most impressive is the large Lake Nahuel – Huapi. For its pristine beauty and unique scenery, the Nahuel – Huapi National Park has been awarded with a UNESCO world heritage listing.

Towering mountain peaks reach far into the bright, blue sky – some topped with snow. In the southern hemisphere’s winter months, Cerro Tronador and Cerro Catedral invite you to enjoy the fantastic views while hurtling down the mountain side on a pair of skies. In summer, climb Cerro Campanario’s 1050 metres to let your eyes roam far and wide!

Later in the day, settle down by one of the deep, blue lakes framed by lush green forests. Sip a cup of steaming coffee and let your eyes climb the snow-tipped peaks effortlessly. Patagonia is at its most scenic in Bariloche. Certainly, you will appreciate this on a long, scenic drive down the Seven Lakes Panorama Route that runs for 190 kilometres between San Martín de los Andes and Bariloche.

Romantic lakes and the untamed nature of the national park flank the scenic road. Bariloche charms the heart with its fantastic and diverse landscapes characterised by its vast temperate rainforests. There are few cities. However, you should take the time to visit the picturesque San Martin de los Andes on Lake Lácar.

Cerro Otto (1405 metres) is easily accessible by cable car, on foot, by mountain bike or even by car. From the top you enjoy a wonderful view out over scenic Patagonia. Up here, you may go sledding or snowshoe hiking. A perfect day for the family!

Argentina’s Andes are just perfect for outdoor adventures. Trekking, climbing, canoeing and rafting tours, paragliding, windsurfing, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, skiing and even diving …. you name it! Welcome to Bariloche! Welcome to Argentina!
