Tailor-made Buenos Aires Travel Experiences

Exciting and unique – Buenos Aires is a vibrant metropolis often called the “Paris of South America”. Here, European heritage and South American temperament blend into an exciting cocktail. More than 2.8 million call this multicultural, giant city their home – not counting the sprawling suburbs that easily add another 10 million to the deal!

The undisputed cultural hub of the country, Buenos Aires is a city of contrasts: The rich and the poor live door to door. Modern, polished skyscrapers are located next to small historic churches and formerly proud, now crumpling facades. Having become a hub also for tourism, the enormous city yet easily offers a quiet spot at every other turn.

Intriguing Buenos Aires offers such a myriad of attractions, you are well advised to take some time discovering and exploring. There are historic and cultural landmarks in abundance. Start off down the incredibly wide Avenida 9 de Julio, the metropolis’ main artery featuring the obelisk at its centre.

Stroll the streets, and duck in and out of the shops. Theatres, cinemas, nostalgic cafés and restaurants line the pavement. The central streets are full of life late into the evening hours. Visit the Basilica de Santo Domingo, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the famous Recoleta cemetery, where, among others, Evita Perón has found her final resting place. And then, there are the vast Botanical Gardens with more than 6,000 species, merry fountains and precious statues.

The harbour is known for its colourful buildings, bustling activity and decidedly Italian flair. The most famous opera house in Buenos Aires is the Teatro Colón. A guided tour through the inspiring building can only be highly recommended. San Telmo is a trendy neighbourhood living and moving in tune with the melancholic tango music. The charming district is characterised by its lovingly restored colonial houses, tango bars, chic restaurants, crowded pubs, clubs and antique shops. Many artists have made the narrow streets and picturesque courtyards their home.
