Da Nang Travel Experiences -

Vietnam’s Boom Town

Da Nang is located in central Vietnam between the world heritage cities Hue and Hoi An. Da Nang is not only one of the largest and liveliest cities in Vietnam, it also boasts a magnificent setting between the mystic Marble Mountains, the Ocean Cloud Pass, the infinite sand beaches of the South China Sea, the large natural harbour and the Han River delta. All in all a setting that is rivalled by only very few other cities around the world! Moreover, Da Nang has its history: Da Nang’s business picked up fast in the second half of the 19th century, when it quickly developed into a mayor trade post. Later, the ample harbour facilities served the US as a marine basis in the Vietnam War. In modern times, with the continuous liberation of the markets, business has been booming again, in its turn giving rise to a superb tourism infrastructure. Da Nang is Vietnam’s boom town. It radiates an optimistic charm and is a wonderful place to kick back, take is slow and step away from the classic tourism hubs. Stroll the pretty China Beach at your leisure, admire the blossoming flowers and rest your eyes on the green-blue ocean, which also builds up some great breakers that will delight surfers. The Sa Huyhn culture has had a strong influence on Da Nang. The city and its vicinity abound in impressive palaces, temples and fortresses connected to the ancient culture. And then, there is the Cham Museum – a window to the Cham dynasty. Located at only a short ride from Da Nang, the Marble Mountains are another hot recommendation. The locals have named the five unusual hills Ngu Hanh Son – mountains of the five elements. The top platform is accessible via a spectacular trail that climbs up a series of steps past several temples and pagodas. From the top, you enjoy a breathtaking view out over the plains and the ocean beyond. On a different day, set out to drive along the twenty kilometres long Ocean Cloud Pass, the natural weather barrier between North and South Vietnam. Moreover, you get to let your eyes gaze out over Da Nang and the Son Tra Peninsula. Your experience of Da Nang would be incomplete without sampling the exquisite local cuisine. Follow the Han River to discover innumerable restaurants specialising in local delicacies. What is more, there is always the Han Market to pick up fresh vegetables, meat, fish and tropical fruit. It will be a pleasure for the INTOSOL team to provide you with more information and to take care of making all your travel arrangements for you.
