The region is renowned for its antelope and giraffe populations but many other species may also be spotted. Every sighting, every exotic plant and seemingly insignificant detail – your ranger is a wealth of information on natural history and wilderness adventure stories.

 

Late in the afternoon, a second game drive is being offered. Some memories stick. And admiring giraffes against a backdrop of the sun stooping low to kiss the red sand dunes is one of them. Snacks and drinks are provided during the tour.

 

The flora also deserves attention. Exotic and perfectly adapted to the harsh conditions in the desert, admire countless species, many of which have medicinal properties your guide will tell you about.

 

Another way to explore the rugged surroundings is tying up your hiking boots. Walk on the wild side, either on your own or with a ranger. The slower pace allows minute details to shift into focus and it is furthermore a good opportunity to look for the many birds that inhabit the Kalahari.
