The latest project of the award-winning Singita Group, the Sweni Lodge is situated on the banks of the Sweni River just like the other group’s property, the Lebombo Lodge in the Lebombo Game Reserve.

 

Having secured the only concession granted for the foundation of a private reserve in the middle of the spectacular Kruger National Park, the Singita Group was able to set Sweni Lodge into stunning scenery far off the beaten track.

 

The smooth surface of the Sweni River reflects the sights of read more » the seemingly impenetrable wilderness. However, to the guest’s delight, lions, leopards and other wild animals again and again step out of the thick of the bush on their way to the river.

 

Vibrant green and soft ochre tones paint the 150 square kilometres large reserve. Many magnificent sights surprise the visitor first introduced to the breathtaking beauty of the South African savannah.

 

The Sweni Lodge is the perfect addition to the Lebombo Lodge located at only 250 metres distance as the rhino bird flies. Nestled among the trees lining the Sweni River, the Lodge radiates a very cosy and luxurious ambience.

 

Like all the other Singita Lodges, the Sweni Lodge is a proud member of the celebrated “Relais & Chateaux” collection.

 

The six Luxury Suites and the impressive main building set new luxury standards. Glass, steel and selected timbers have been skilfully combined to create a sensational design.

 

Glass creates transparency and transparency furnishes unity. The open design is airy, allowing for generous spaces. African design elements, warm ochre tones, Kudu leather and wicker work – the selected decorations summon the spirits of the savannah, creating an oasis of peace amidst the Kruger Park’s untamed nature.

On a quite day, inspiring wildlife observation is also possible in the comfort of the cosy veranda. Sun or shade, you decide. Let your eyes rest on the green forests expanding before you which might be hiding secrets you can uncover on your next safari.

 

Halfway between the Sweni and Lebombo Lodge, the Wellness Village is certainly another highlight worth mentioning. Finest furniture and selected pieces of art are the beautiful setting for the wellness magic to be experienced. Sweat in the sauna or give yourself up to the caring hands of the therapist applying massages or hot stone therapies.

 

A fitness centre, souvenir shop, wine boutique, an art gallery and the Ranger Café complete the Sweni Lodge’s extensive range of facilities.

 

Depending on the season, those who enjoy fishing may cast a line into the Sweni River in hope of a big catch.

 

Just above the river, next to the main building’s beautifully laid out terrace, a large swimming pool promises a welcome relief from the high noon sun.
