Step read more » out of your room and into the rainforest: Set amidst the forest, rainforest hikes are the first and foremost activity. Allow an experienced guide to introduce you to the world’s oldest rainforest’s exotic flora and fauna!

 

Another very special experience is a romantic rainforest picnic, which can be organised by the Silky Oak team on your request. Alternatively, take to the air and soar high above the natural splendour below in a serenely floating hot-air balloon.

 

The view from above is sensational: The azure Pacific Ocean, the Great Barrier Reef in the distance and the rolling rainforest hills underneath. For a closer look at the reef, the world’s largest ecosystem, swap the balloon for a helicopter to venture out onto the open sea.

 

Back on land, take it easy and try to spot a few members of Australia’s diverse birdlife. The river is good place to start and for a larger range, take a canoe up the lush twists and turns of the Mossman.

 

For a change of scenery, go on a daytrip out to the Barrier Reef and discover the underwater world with a mask and snorkel. Explore the beautiful surroundings with a bike or accept a friend’s challenge to a tennis match.

 

The region has a lot to offer: A nearby golf course allows you to try you hand at the gentlemen’s sport. Spend a day exploring on horseback, cast a line to try your luck fishing or sink beneath the waves on a scuba dive.
