The read more » surroundings boast gorgeous, sun-kissed sand beaches, tranquil rivers and vast rainforests … not to mention the Noosa National Park. Despite the green surroundings, the Sheraton is set at the heart of the stylish seaside town Noosa.

 

The Sheraton is located on Hastings Street, which is an enthusiastic shopper’s delight: countless boutique stores and haute couture fashion shops line the street on both sides.

 

However, the spectacular nature all around also demands your attention. Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island, definitely deserves a visit. Drive up and down the endless beach lining the island’s east coast.

 

Please note that swimming is not recommended because of sharks and strong currents. No worries: Fraser compensates with no less than 200 crystal-clear, sand-filtered freshwater lakes and streams. Two of the largest and famous are Lake Wabby and Lake McKenzie.

 

A network of trails navigates the island protected as a national park and offers you the chance to spot the local wildlife. Fraser is an excellent place to keep your eyes peeled for the Dingo, Australia’s wild dog, or Goannas.

 

Moreover, the waters around Fraser are the breeding grounds for migrating Humpback Whales, which may be seen from June through to October.

 

Noosa is the centre of the Sunshine Coast and sports a number of excellent beaches, some of which are perfect for surfing, others for swimming. Discover small bays and hike the Noosa National Park, where you can occasionally spot a sleeping Koala wedged tightly into the forking branches of a gum tree.
