The Saruni Designer Lodge is highly exclusive: Only six guest villas accommodate the distinguished guests and promise absolute privacy. Two large pools look out over the painted Samburu landscapes, including the private landing strip for quick and easy charter flights.
The guest villas and rooms are exceedingly comfortable and grant a magnificent view of several waterholes that attract elephants, leopards, antelopes, zebras and giraffes.
The lodge’s management has implemented cutting-edge sustainability practises and technology. Only natural and local materials were used for the construction of the lodge. Electricity is provided by solar panels and rainwater is collected and recycled. Unavoidable waste is responsibly disposed of and regional products are generally preferred over imported ones.

Designed in a graceful colonial style, the villas have been fitted with antiques, precious carpets and comfortable furniture. The bedrooms are equipped with either a cosy double bed or two twin beds with an adjoining dressing room.
There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the spectacular surroundings: Put the feet up on your private veranda and savour the late afternoon sun. Even while enjoying a shower, you may gaze out over the surrounding wilderness: just perfect!
Larger, but equally comfortable, the two Family Villas each feature two ensuite bedrooms with a dressing room. A spacious and welcoming living room is the perfect place to come together. Moreover, several verandas invite you to sip a sundowner.

Both game drives and bush hikes are accompanied by experienced Samburu warriors that do not only know the land like the palm of their hand but have also been certified by the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association.
The Kalama Reserve is yet another option for superb safaris. Perfect organisation and detailed information are the Kalama’s trademark. Sumoro Lecharkole, one of the most experienced guides, is the first Samburu warrior to have received Kenya’s KPSGA Silver Qualification.
And then, you may decide to become deeply involved: “Warriors for a Week” is a training progamme organised by the Samburu warriors that prepares you for survival in the wild. Like a young Samburu you will be instructed to read wildlife tracks and to build a shelter. A once-in-a-lifetime experience!
