Words can not justly express the sensation of dining at the restaurant with its booma and fireplace among the trees or being accommodated in the luxurious treetop suites – it has to be experienced.
A special highlight is the Body Boma – a wellness and spa centre having been constructed entirely among the trees. With body and soul in contact with nature, various wellness treatments at the Tree-Spa-Suites will ease the strains of everyday life.
Especially recommendable are the massages with scented oil made from natural and regional African ingredients only. All therapies and beauty products follow the principle “back to nature”.

It has to be mentioned that on days with heavy traffic some noise from the N2 might be faintly heard at the hotel in the mountains. It is the tiniest downside compared to the amazing experience the Phantom Forest offers.

The highest importance has been placed on a tasteful and luxurious interior of the suites. However, it is not the design or furniture that fascinates most, much rather it is the special atmosphere of you suite being enveloped by a life tree.
The suite’s bathroom deserves a special mention: Walls have been replaced by panoramic glass panels that grant you a spectacular view of the forest while enjoying a bath.
Do not worry about the monkeys living in the forest! They might watch you taking a bath but are going to be very discrete about it.
Your suite’s private terrace is an even better place to enjoy the all-surrounding nature. The mini bar and fridge are directly on the terrace to further enhance your quite contemplation with a fresh drink.
Some facilities have deliberately not been installed in your suite. You will not find a TV or telephone. The focus is entirely on nature and what better entertainment can there possibly be than watching the monkeys play in the trees around you?
It has to be mentioned that the evening hours and nights in the winter in South Africa can be surprisingly cold. Should you wish to travel in the winter, please be prepared for cold weather from May through to September. Else, visit this charming nature hideaway in the hot summer months.

The Phantom Forest, partly in cooperation with other hotels, also offers a large variety of sports and leisure activities.
Excursions on horse back, golfing, sailing or whale watching tours may be enjoyed. Thanks to the superb location close to the ocean, water sports are also available. The Great White Shark may be observed from up close on a cage dive and the breakers offer perfect surfing opportunities.
