And certainly, the stately Ol Pejeta House fits the picture. The elegant residence features two master suites as well as two guest rooms. A sweeping veranda leads to the lounge and the dining room furnished with massive wooden tables and comfortable chairs.

 

Sip a steaming cup of coffee or chilled glass of white wine and look out over the vast estate with its tropical gardens, waterhole, two swimming pools and the snow-topped peak of Mount Kenya in the distance.

 

The Ol Pejeta House’s interior charms its guests with luxurious sofas and armchairs as well as select pieces of art, creating a tasteful yet welcoming atmosphere. Moreover, you may also reside at the Buffalo Cottage that Adnan Kashoggi had had constructed for his children.

 

Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast on the outdoor veranda. Lunch and dinner are served in the comfort of the dining room. Living

The Ol Pejeta House offers only six rooms in total – ensuring absolute privacy and individualised service. Every room is unique and has been decorated with select pieces of African art.

 

The two master read more » suites are simply called “For Her” and “For Him”. Each has been furnished with a vast king-sized bed fashioned from precious hardwood. Furthermore, the suites each include a separate living area with sumptuous furniture, a luxurious bathroom and a dressing room. The veranda invites you to put your feet up after a long and exciting day out and about on safari.

 

The two guestrooms offer similar elegance. They feature wonderfully comfortable double beds and ensuite bathrooms. The generous terrace looks out over the Ol Pejeta’s neatly kept gardens.

 

The Buffalo Cottage is a separate house with a private garden. It was originally constructed for Adnan Kashoggi’s children. Step inside and discover a charming living area with an open fireplace. The two luxurious bathrooms each have their private bathroom.

 

The Ol Pejeta House offers its guests not only a 24 hour room, laundry and maid service but also includes a personal room steward that is immediately at your side whenever required.

Classic game drives are offered both throughout the day and at night. It is worth mentioning that the Serena hotel chain promotes responsible tourism and is dedicated both to supporting the local population and protecting the environment and its wildlife.

 

And certainly, the facts support this noble claim: The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is not only home to the famous Big Five (elephant, rhinoceros, lion, buffalo and leopard) but also incorporates the largest black rhinoceros and the only monkey sanctuary in East Africa. You are welcomed to visit the chimpanzee sanctuary and observe the staff raising orphaned young.

 

The activities offered include exciting guided bush hikes and bird watching tours. You may also decide to mount a gently swaying camel: a wonderful way to get close to the Rift Valley’s wildlife in a natural fashion.

 

The Ol Pejeta Conservancy also includes the village Ereri Manyatta where members of the formerly nomadic tribes Maasai, Pokot and Turkana have settled to escape the harsh conditions in Northern Kenya.

 

A bilingual Moran (warrior) welcomes visitors to Manyatta village and takes visitors on a guided tour. You may even step inside some families’ homes.
