Close to the city of Hoedspruit, the Ngala Game Reserve and the Ngala Lodge are situated southwest of the Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga. Translated from the Shangaan language, the name “Ngala“ means “lion“.
Perched on the banks of the river, the Ngala Lodge has been constructed in harmony with the immediate, pristine environment. Consequently, the wildlife and the birds take no notice of the human visitors as they move freely around the lodge and the adjacent water hole.
