However, apart from the historic flair, the Luna Hotel Baglioni naturally also boasts all the modern-day creature comforts. Every room features internet connection, air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, mini bar, a safe as well as a wonderful marble bathroom that comes with all amenities like a hairdryer, make-up mirror and soft bathrobes.

 

The 41 Superior Double Rooms are 28 to 35 square metres large and command a view of either the city's tiny alleyways or the romantic courtyards. The 28 Deluxe Double Rooms offer a design and view along similar lines. However, the facilities are even more ample.

 

Larger and more luxurious yet, the Luna Hotel’s 21 Junior Suites allow you to spread out on generous 38 – 45 square metres. The extra space is put to excellent use with a superbly comfortable seating area.

The first highlight of your stay is the transfer to the Luna Hotel. The sleek motorboat or traditional gondola drops you off at the hotel’s private jetty. And, of course, you may hail a gondola for a romantic glide down Venice’s canals at any time.

 

However, at some stage, we recommend you let your own feet guide you through the maze of streets and ancient alleyways that criss-cross the so-called city of love.

 

At the centre of it all, where Venice is most vibrant and bustling, lies the San Marco Square. Settle down for an espresso at any of the many street cafés to admire the graceful architecture, fluttering pigeons and photo-frenzied tourists before exploring yourself.

 

On one side, the San Marco Cathedral completely dominates the square. It is well worth a visit and the view from the tower is quite simply stunning. Incidentally, the San Marco Square is located within easy walking distance of your hotel, just like the Palazzo Ducale.

 

Immerse yourself in the unique Venice flair. Start the day with an early morning walk when the streets are still empty and quiet. The light is very special at this hour and only little by little do the locals appear on the streets on their way to the fish and vegetable markets by the Rialto Bridge.

 

A visit to the famous Teatro La Fenice certainly constitutes the highlight of a night in Venice. Conveniently, it is located in the immediate vicinity of the Luna Hotel. Afterwards, why not follow in the footsteps of the famous author Hemingway with a visit to Harry’s Bar.

 

Venice boasts cultural riches galore. However, there is also another side to the city. In the summer months, there is plenty of opportunity for sports, relaxation and a splash in the sea. A watertaxi takes you to the 11.5 kilometres long Lido Island in just under fifteen minutes.
