With the Kwando Kwara Camp Intosol offers you a luxury safari camp, which is perfectly located for exceptional safaris in the stunning Okavango Delta region.


The Kwara Camp is located in the Kwando Concession, in the northern section of the Okavango Delta. It is situated on the border of a wide floodplain, which holds water all year round.


It is a beautiful wilderness area more than 1,700 square kilometres large and limited only by the famous Moremi Game Reserve. The Kwara Camp is set on read more » a lush island on the edge of the river delta. The location is perfect for motor boat safaris or trips in the traditional Mokoros, which are dugout canoes.


Being a private concession, safaris at Kwando can be operated at any time, day and night. Without doubt, no trip to Botswana is complete without having seen the sun glittering on the many canals, rivers and lagoons in the Delta.


There are many different habitats at Kwara: from the clear waters of the Delta lined with reeds and peppered with serene lagoons, to open grasslands or the Mopane Woodlands. It is a spectacular landscape featuring large herds of wild animals and the accompanying predators. It all amounts to one extraordinary safari experience!


A labyrinth of waterways, islands, seasonal floodplains and bush land means Kwara is interesting and diverse at any season of the year. A morning Moroko trip - gliding soundlessly along the waterways - for many guests it is the unforgettable highlight of their safari.


For a little rest, pull up to one of the many islands, settle down beneath a shady tree and cherish the view across the lagoon. Having rested, set off on a foot safari - your guides are experienced and armed - to explore the island end to end, before climbing back into the Mokoro to paddle homewards.

The Kwando Kwara Camp offers eight luxurious safari tents for a maximum of only 16 guests. The fine units are built on raised wooden decks and nestled in a grove of African ebony trees. Carrying across read more » the water, the grunts of hippos provide the acoustic backdrop.


Every tent has its own observation deck and comes with a private bathroom complete with hot and cold water, shower/bath and toilet. The elegant and comfortable teak furniture is custom made for Kwando Safaris by Zimbabwean craftsmen.


The tents are built on elevated platforms to offer a better view out over the surrounding wilderness and nearby lagoon, where hippopotamus are your next-door neighbours. Just like other Kwando camps, Kwara offers a plunge pool and souvenir shop.

Kwando offers Big 5 safaris in cooperation with the Songwe Village. Just like other camps, Kwando Safaris has exclusive rights over the private concession. Guests experience the fascinating wildlife in the Okavango Delta with a special focus on water safaris.


Gliding down the channels in a Mokoro, a canoe made by hollowing out a tree, affords you with the opportunity to spot herons, storks or the mighty kingfisher from close up. Do not forget to bring your binoculars!


Apart from Mokoro trips, Kwando Kwara offers fishing and bushwalking. There are night safaris as well as morning and afternoon game drives. Kwara is located in an area, which is home to a great diversity of species.


Lechwes call Kwando their home just like the very rarely seen Sitatunga; both are found exclusively in the Delta. Reedbucks, bushbucks, hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalos, Roan and Sable antelopes as well as zebras, giraffes, gnus, impalas and Tsessebes all make their home in the Okavango Delta.


With such great diversity, it is no surprise that the predators are never far away: lions, hyenas, wild dogs, the shy leopard and the rare cheetah are around, waiting to pounce.
