The Kuyenda Bushcamp is possibly the least sophisticated of The Bushcamp Company’s properties, however, no less attractive. It represents the authentic charm of the unadorned, old Africa.

 

Relish the charm of the thatched-roof wilderness chalets set amidst the pristine, rough and rugged African landscape. Who needs internet, infinity swimming pools and spa facilities anyway?

The wildlife is all around and occasionally walks right through the middle of the camp. Unplug and enjoy a slow afternoon at the lounge. Rest your eyes on the beautiful surroundings and spot the one or other animal parading past.

 

The Kuyenda Bushcamp is a place of serene tranquillity and absolute privacy. Only four round-hut chalets are available. The camp opens from June to October and welcomes children twelve years and older.

 

Far off the beaten path, you can hardly expect any surprise visitors for tea. Of course, the Kuyenda Bushcamp’s two highly experienced and friendly guides regularly come by for a chat and a safari.

Living

At the Kuyenda Bushcamp you experience an authentic Africa experience at the heart of the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. The four cosy round-hut chalets radiate a welcoming ambience and feature read more » a king or queen-sized bed with mosquito net.

 

Additionally, each chalet features a private ensuite open bathroom with a toilet and safari shower. Petroleum lamps cast their flickering light, enhancing the rustic flair.

 

The traditional round huts have been designed in an open architecture style and equipped with basic comforts that create a snug ambience. A large panorama window looks out onto the wild surroundings and the occasional animals that amble past.

 

Having braved the thrills of an eventful safari hike, return to the camp’s comforts, settle down in the lounge or indulge in the African specialities in the dining room or at the boma.

Explore the exotic fauna and flora with read more » a sturdy pair of hiking boots, following in the footsteps of the early adventurers. Take the time to slow down, savouring the fact that you are far, far away from any motorised vehicles or cell phones. Just you and the peaceful nature!

 

The Kuyenda’s excellently trained guides have amazing knowledge on the South Luangwe National Park’s intricate ecosystem. Learn to read tracks, interpret the wildlife’s warning calls and how to tell medicinal from poisonous plants.

 

Alternatively, with tired feet, you may also opt for a classic day or night time game drive in a rugged safari vehicle. With a little luck on your side, you might spot African wild dogs, giraffes, elephant or lions to name just a few.
