In this extraordinary region you’ll find elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, cheetahs and African wild dogs at home. You’ll also observe large numbers of different native birds. Right in the neighbourhood of the lodge itself you can catch sight of wild birds and birds of prey.

Living

The Khwai River Lodge is built in perfect harmony with its surroundings. All luxury tents are set on raised wooden platforms, enabling impressive views in all directions. Traditional African thatched roofs read more » provide ample shade.

 

Each large private terrace is outfitted with comfortable easy chairs and a hammock. Just right for taking in the local wildlife view without having to stray too far at all! In the evenings it’s also possible to enjoy an intimate private dinner.

 

The tent’s interior is luxuriously comfortable with its own bathroom, fully stocked mini bar, four-poster bed with mosquito netting, and discreet air conditioning. A private safe ensures secure storage for your valuables.

 

It’s pure luxury to lie in the hammock in the afternoons between safari activities and stretch out with a book, or just watch the wildlife go by.

 

If you’re looking for that something extra, Khwai River Lodge also offers an exclusive honeymoon suite. This suite offers more space, and a private swimming pool adjoining the terrace.

 

With a bit of luck you can also catch a glimpse of the wildlife as you swim in the pool, and occasionally you might be host to a local elephant, who finds your pool just the thing to slake his thirst.

Activities

The exceptional location of Khwai makes it a regular host to elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, cheetah and wild dogs. Birdlife can also be viewed in abundance with exceptional sightings of wildfowl and raptors near the lodge.

 

However, we should also mention that boat trips in the region are also extremely special. Particularly beautiful is a “Sundowner” boat journey along the Khwai River.

 

Khwai River Lodge is one of the few Okavango Delta camps to also offer a Spa area. Enjoy a massage or aromatherapy treatment that will leave you feeling well from head to toe.
