The Claremont Country Estate offers only five rooms and two cottages. Each of the comfortable rooms has been equipped with select antiques and boasts a breathtaking view.

A little walking and the fresh air invariably give you an appetite. Back at the Claremont, the chef awaits you with delicacies prepared with the local ingredients of the season. A recommendation goes to the New Zealand lamb specialities. Served with a local Wiapara wine – bon appétit!


The long oak table accommodates as many as twelve guests comfortably. Indulge in the scrumptious treats and chat to the other guests. Breakfast is served in the winter garden – surrounded by countless flowering roses.

The five rooms and two cottages offer every comfort imaginable and radiate a graceful flair. The Luxury Suites and Homestead Luxury read more » Rooms have been decked out in a warm colour scheme and equipped with select antiques.


Every room is unique. A tea and coffee corner allows you to brew yourself a steaming mug whenever desired. On your arrival, a fruit basket and fresh flowers welcome you to your home away from home.


A cuppa in hand, step outside and enjoy the view of the mountains, savouring the fragrance from the blossoming rose gardens. Those travelling with kids are well advised to consider the spacious cottages.


The cottages include two or three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Set at a little distance from the main lodge, the two farm cottages even boast their own, private garden.


Breakfast is delivered to your room. At night, you may either self-provide or request to dine at the main lodge. Afterwards, make yourself comfortable in one of the lodge’s two lounges, sipping a tea or twirling a glass of cognac.


Pull a good book from the Claremont Country Estate library’s shelves and settle down in front of the blazing fireplace. Or just unplug and spend a moment in sweet idleness!

An experienced guide may take you through the private property, through the forest and to the lakes. Cast a line and reel in a big salmon, which may be prepared for your dinner at night.


Alternatively, explore the surroundings on horseback. Horseback tours are an activity for the entire family, and one that especially kids enjoy. Full and half-day tours are available.


Surprise your loved one with a romantic picnic by the river. Spread out a blanket and crack open a bottle of finest New Zealand wine. Or, on a hot day, just hop into the water for a refreshing splash.


The Claremont Country Estate’s surroundings are also first-class for bird watching. Binoculars at the ready, spot the many species that inhabit region. Bird watching can also be perfectly combined with a day of hiking.
