Of course, the facilities leave nothing to be desired: Modern amenities are underpinned by thoughtful details like a barbecue and a couple of courtesy mountain bikes for every cottage.

 

A fine choice, the Rush Cottage charms its guests with a romantic setting amidst the vineyards. Reach up to pluck a few plums or lemons from the trees or cuddle up in front of the blazing fireplace.

 

The Beach House, as you might imagine, is located directly on Waimarama Beach. The Beach House is the perfect options for those that enjoy an early morning swim and watching the surf roll in.

 

The Summerlee is just right accommodation for large families and groups of friends. Eight bedrooms and four bathrooms feature every luxury and comfort imaginable.

Activities

Set on a vast property, it comes as no surprise that the activity programme at the Black Barn Hotel is generously diverse and plentiful.

 

Above all else, the Hawke’s Bay region is paradise for wine read more » connoisseurs and a regular trip down into the wine cellars rewards you with excellent Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

 

Those that prefer a white wine are well advised to sample the delicious Chardonnays and Sauvignon Blancs. It is a local tradition to harvest by hand – and the hand-selected grapes result in a quality that you can taste.

 

The scenic village Havelock North is only a few minutes away and well worth a visit. Every Saturday a market is being held: sample the local produce, savour the smells and aromas and relish the charming ambience.

 

Of course, the best start into a new sunny day is a long, leisurely stroll through the rolling vineyards. And later, at night, visit the amphitheatre for a play or music performance.

 

The amphitheatre can also be booked for your private celebrations or business events. Moreover, outside the regular opening hours, the art gallery is the perfect venue for a dinner party.

 

The Hawke’s Bay nature is stunning. A long guided hike introduces you to New Zealand’s great natural diversity and takes you to lovely spots on lonely trails.
