The Babylonstoren offers a total of eight luxurious ensuite cottages (80 square metres large) with a single bedroom and four more with two bedrooms (115 square metres), the latter a perfect solution for families.

 

Once upon a time, the ancient buildings served their purpose as grain and hay storages. Today, the cottages offer supremely luxurious accommodation but thankfully retain their graceful 17th and 18th century Cape colony design.

 

The interior is generously spacious and complemented by a private terrace. Enjoy a romantic candlelight dinner beneath the twinkling stars or take a swing and a snooze in the hammock - quality time par excellence!

 

The Babylonstoren cottage's facilities leave nothing to be desired: On a crisp and clear winter's day, the underfloor heating chases away any chills. And on languorous summer's afternoon, the air-conditioning takes the edge off the African heat.

 

Every cottage offers a separate living room with a generous and comfortable seating area as well as kitchen complete with a coffee machine, telephone and safe. Some units additionally boast a fireplace.

 

The technical gadgets are limited, as befits the setting, but include a TV and DVD player, allowing you to cuddle up with a movie on the rare occasion of a rainy night.

On a different day, maybe you would like to learn more about the Babylonstoren's history. Stop by the more than 320 year old manor house, which dates back to 1690, and include the historic wine cellar, the grain storage and pigeonry into your tour.

 

The Winelands are just perfect for sports and activities like biking, hiking or paddling on the hotel's lake. Every part of the farm's 200 hectare property is open to you.

 

Afterwards, visit the Babylonstoren's spa for a professional treatment or relaxing massage. And on a hot day, the elegant pool invites you to take a refreshing splash or do some early morning laps.
