Living

The Azur Lodge’s nine 90 square metres large villas all command a magnificent view of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding white-capped mountain peaks. The ninety square metres include a generous fifteen read more » square metres large deck.

 

However, the magic scenery may also be enjoyed without having to step outside. Large panorama windows allow you to let your eyes drift back to the mountains from just about any point in the villa.

 

Spacious and elegant, the Azur Villas have been decked out with bright Silver beech wood that contrasts magnificently with the warm hues of the quality textiles. The generous lounge area boasts a gas fireplace and glass sliding doors that open onto the partly glassed timber terrace equipped with two lounge chairs.

 

And, of course, the dining area also features huge panorama windows looking out onto the pristine landscape all around. Wake up with a freshly brewed coffee, delicious breakfast and a stirringly beautiful view.

 

As you would by now have come to expect, the bathroom continues the line of elegant comforts. Generously proportioned, two washbasins are complemented by a large rain shower. The toilet is accommodated in a separate compartment.

 

Certainly the highlight, the spa bathtub has been placed directly in front of a large window that opens wide. Relish the fresh mountain air, hot, bubbling water and – once again – the stunning view.

Romantic flair and historic fascination: Explore Lake Wakatipu on an ancient steamship. If speed is your thing, rattle down the hills on a mountain bike tour or send the spray flying on a jet boat ride through the Shotover Canyon – supposedly the world’s most thrilling jet boat ride that has you cutting the corners by millimetres.

 

Queenstown is New Zealand’s adrenaline capital: Take the plunge bungee jumping, hold on tight to a white-water raft or soar magnificently above the landscape securely strapped to a paragliding harness.

 

For a good combination of activities, join the Dart River Safari, which includes hiking, 4WD adventure and jet boating. Despite the modern transportation, you will be following in the footsteps of Frodo Baggins – the tour will take you past several of the original film locations.

 

The enthusiasts may, of course, decide to book the full Lord of the Rings safari. Other destinations in the area include the former gold mining town Arrowtown. If you would like to make arrangements previous to travelling, it would a pleasure for INTOSOL to help you.
