Living

The Tanamera Lodge clings to the hills overlooking the spectacularly beautiful Sabie River Valley. The guests may choose between four Luxury Chalets, two Honeymoon Suites and an Executive Chalet. All units read more » are generously spaced apart to ensure your privacy.

 

No matter which unit you set your heart and eyes on, each and every one radiates individual charm but boasts the same stunning view of the valley far below. Please note that the Tanamera Lodge accepts kids age sixteen and older only.

 

The four Luxury Chalets are equipped with a sensational stone bathtub, a waterfall shower, romantic fireplace and a mini bar. However, the most magic spot lies just beyond the panorama sliding doors.

 

Step out onto your private deck complete with an infinity plunge pool commanding a breathtaking view of the rushing Sabie River deep down in the valley. Both the quiet setting and the cosy king-sized beds draped in billowing mosquito nets ensure a supremely restful night.

 

The Honeymoon Suites add yet another touch of romantic flair into the deal. You may look forward to finely appointed bathrooms offering a stone bathtub, double washbasins as well as a waterfall shower for two.

 

Snuggle up in the soft bed and gaze into a crackling fire. The large fireplace has been positioned as a room divider between the bedroom and the lounge. The second Honeymoon Suite was inaugurated only recently.

 

In addition to the above mentioned amenities it offers a large chandelier that can be dimmed to a soft, romantic glow. Moreover, the suite is set far away from the rest of the lodge, ensuring absolute privacy.

 

The Executive Chalet features facilities that are almost identical to those of the Honeymoon Suites, making it an excellent alternative if you are travelling with your loved one. It is the only chalet that faces north-east, limiting the view of the Sabie River ever so slightly.

 

Indeed, each and every one of the chalets boast a sophisticated ambience and refined facilities. The interior design spans the gaps between contemporary, typical African and quaintly romantic. A deeply felt connection to nature is not only apparent in the setting but also in the décor and the materials.

 

There is nothing that beats sipping a sundowner on the private deck, relishing the peace and quiet, while the setting sun's last light casts a golden glow on the forest below. Just wonderful!

Activities

Offering much more than “just” impeccable service and luxurious facilities, the Tanamera Lodge also entertains its guests with countless exciting activities.

 

A favourite, certainly, is the elephant read more » safari. Meet and greet the four gentle and perfectly trained grey giants before setting off for the wilderness. Alternatively, you may rev up the engine of a quad bike and speed away down rugged tracks.

 

There is plenty to do. Other nature activities include white water rafting and white water tubing, both naturally down in the canyon. However, you may also take to the air and go hot air ballooning, riding, hiking or test your hand's steadiness at archery.

 

Some exotic and some classic adventures to choose from... Of course, the all-time classics are the safaris into the Kruger National Park... and for a good reason: The national park is spectacular!

 

Come eye to eye with Africa's big game from the safety of an open safari vehicle. You expert guide ensures your safety, picks up the tracks and trails and provides detailed information on South Africa's flora and fauna.

 

The Kruger National Park safaris leave early. Just ask the kitchen to kindly pack you a breakfast to-go. You return to the Tanamera Lodge at approximately 12.30 pm. Just in time for another highlight: The Kapama Night Drive.

 

A guide picks you up in the afternoon and takes you deep into the bushland. As night slowly falls, you are on the lookout for nocturnal wildlife and listen to some of the myths and legends surrounding the land. And then, you settle down to a delicious dinner in the middle of nowhere, a so-called Lapa Dinner at the heart of the wilderness.

 

Keep your camera at the ready for the stunning Mpumalanga's scenery on the Lowveld Panorama Tour. After all, you will be visiting the world's third largest canyon that includes three Rondawels, Bourkes Luck Potholes and God's Window.

 

Sounds interesting? Enjoy a light lunch at Graskop before finishing the day with a visit to the old gold rush town. After a long and fascinating day, return to the luxurious Tanamera Lodge tired but happy.
