Because of the extreme daytime temperatures, a wilderness day starts early with breakfast at 6am. What could be more beautiful? From here, you can observe the local wildlife strolling by or dine with your loved one in absolute privacy. The tent’s interiors are amazingly luxurious, especially considering the remote location of the Okavango Delta.
The comfortable en-suite has a shower and toilet and double washbasins, an individual hot water system, electric heater, both 110 and 240-volt power outlets for electric razors and such and a hair dryer.
Even though we consider the drinking water at the camp perfectly safe, bottled water and water coolers in the rooms and in the bar area form part of the facilities. The camp also offers charging facilities for your video camera batteries as well as countless other practical amenities.
The rooms are equipped with a well-stocked mini bar, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, heating, a safe and an enormous, comfortable four-poster-bed draped in a mosquito net. Batteries power the lighting in the evenings and reception personnel is available 24 hours.
You can choose to dine on your private terrace in the evenings or in the bar or dining area beneath the sparkling firmament. Different times of the year offer a different kind of holiday in the Okavango Delta. November to April is the rainy season, which normally sees at least one heavy shower a day. Therefore, the drier months from April to October are recommended as the best travel time. For the highest water levels in the Delta, Intosol recommends you visit in July.
The best wildlife experiences can be enjoyed around August and September. Naturally, the camp’s range of activities depends on the season. For example, Mokoro safaris are only available when the floodwaters are at their highest.
Mokoros are wooden dugout canoes - and to travel in one is to glide almost silently through the Delta, an inspiring experience. A completely different way to experience this part of Africa is to join a guided bush walk.
